My name is Luciano, I am French, and I tried yerba mate for the first time during a trip to the island of Chiloé, in southern Chile. Later, while living for a few months in Argentina and Uruguay, I came to fully appreciate this tradition and everything it represents.

At first, everything was new: the calabaza, the bombilla, the ritual... But soon mate became more than just a drink: it became a symbol of sharing, of meeting people and authenticity. Today, mate is part of my daily life.

When I returned to France, I realised that it wasn't always easy to find good yerba mate or the right accessories. That's how the idea for Sol del Este was born: to offer direct access in France and Europe to this culture that had had such an impact on me.
